Walking Nightmare Chpt. 3

                                                     Investigation 03

Sunao, Aria, Kunao, and Heartnet walked out of the building. As they were walking, Suano asks Heartnet something.

Sunao: Heartnet?
Heartnet: Hmm?
Sunao: Is there a gun store here?
Heartnet: Yeah. Let me lead.

Heartnet takes them to the gun shop. Heartnet goes to the door and begins opening it but it was locked. Aria looks around and finds something.

Aria: Everybody move.

Aria throws a brick through the glass, breaking it. Everybody shield their ears.

Sunao: Geez.... You could have warned us first.
Aria: My bad...

The four walked through the shattered window and begin checking out the weapons. Sunao grabs two shotguns. He goes to Heartnet who just picked up a machete.

Sunao: Here. Take this.
Heartnet: Thanks.

Sunao goes to his handgun and gives it to Kunao.

Kunao: What's this?
Sunao: You might need it.
Kunao: But... I don't like guns...
Sunao: Just keep it with you and use it when you really have to.

Kunao looks at the gun and back at her brother. She nods.

Kunao: Okay.
Sunao: Good girl.

He walks to Aria who was putting extra ammo in his bag. He hands Sunao some.

Aria: Put these in your bag.

Sunao puts them in his bag. Then Aria hands him to more bags filled with food and ammo.

Aria: Give these two to your sister and Heartnet. Their gonna need it.
Sunao: Heh. Looks like the rookie is taking control.

Aria smiles at the comment.

Aria: Well... Let's just say I played a lot of video games when I was little.

Sunao smiles as well.

Sunao: Whatever you say.
Heartnet: Sunao.

Sunao turns around and sees Heartnet with a young girl that looked 16. She had jeans and a white buttoned shirt on. Her hair was long and blond, and her eyes were black.

Sunao walks up to Heartnet.

Sunao: Where did she come from?
Heartnet: I don't know. Me and Kunao just heard a sound and then this girl just comes running up to Kunao, hugging her.
Sunao: Do you think she has parents?
Heartnet: I don't know.

Sunao looks at the girl, who was a little nervous so she goes behind Heartnet. He kneels a little.

Sunao: It's okay. Were not here to hurt you. Only to rescue.

The young girl slowly comes out from behind Heartnet.

Sunao: There you go. Now... Where's your parents?

Hearing that, the girl looks at Sunao. Tears started to form in her eyes. She runs up to Sunao and gives him a hug. Sunao hugs her back. Sunao looks at Heartnet, both of them now knew what happened to her parents...

Sunao: It's okay. It's okay. There, there.

The girl lets go of him to wipe her tears. Sunao puts his hands on her shoulders.

Sunao: What's your name?

The girl was still crying but she was able to reply.

???: Yume.
Sunao: Yume. That's a cute name. How about you stick with us?

Yume looks at Sunao.

Sunao: I will protect you. These people that you see will protect you.
Heartnet: Yeah.
Aria: Of course.
Kunao: Yes.

Sunao looks at everybody and smiles. Then he looks back at Yume.

Sunao: Do you want to stay with us?

Yume looks down on the ground.

Sunao: Go ahead. Don't be shy.

Yume looks back at Sunao with a little smile on her face and nods.

Sunao: Okay. Go with sister Kunao.
Yume: Okay.

Yume runs to Kunao and gives her a hug.

Kunao: You hungry Yume?

Yume nods. Kunao takes her to the back. Sunao's smile slowly fades. He takes a deep breath. Heartnet notices him.

Heartnet: Something wrong?
Sunao: Hm? Oh. No. It's just... Do I have enough strength to protect you and the others from harm...?

Heartnet smiles and puts a hand on Sunao's shoulder.

Heartnet: Don't worry about it too much. You have me and your partner to help you. Even Kunao can protect herself and Yume.
Sunao: I guess your right.

Heartnet helps him up.

Sunao: What were you doing here?
Heartnet: Me? I'm a local and I met your sister when she came to this island.
Sunao: Oh yeah... She said she was going on vacation...
Aria: Hey, you guys! Help me get the stuff that we might need.
