True Love Chpt. 5

                                                        Chapter 5

In the hallway, at the restrooms. Toyohisa stands outside of the girls restroom while Izunami washes her face inside. Several minutes later, she comes out, still wiping the remaining tears in her eyes.

Toyohisa: You okay?
Izunami: Mm-hmm. Sorry... it was a really sad story.
Toyohisa: Don't worry about it... I just want to try and forget about the whole thing...

That's when Ai and Taki enters the scene.

Taki: Hey guys.

Toyohisa got a little upset with the both of them. He walks up to the two.

Toyohisa: Why did you guys suddenly leave?

Ai and Taki looked at each other and gave a nervous smile at Toyohisa.

Taki: Sorry... we wanted you to be comfortable talking to other girls...
Ai: We didn't mean to upset you, Toyohisa...

Toyohisa gives out a sigh.

Toyohisa: Don't worry. I'm not mad but you know it's still going to be a while.
Taki: We know and we are really sorry.

Toyohisa puts a hand on both Ai and Taki's shoulder and gives a smile.

Toyohisa: But thank you for trying to help me.
Ai: No problem.
Taki: What are friends for?

The bell suddenly rings. This meant that club activities were about to begin. Taki and Ai waved to both Toyohisa and Izunami.

Taki: We'll see you guys later. We have to go to our club.
Ai: See ya!

With that said, Taki and Ai began walking away. Toyohisa and Izunami are once again, alone together.

Izunami: So do you have any clubs to go to?
Toyohisa: I'm part of the music club but we don't meet until Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays.
Izunami: There's a music club? May I see the room?
Toyohisa: Well... usually the room is locked but I was handed key duplicates so sure.

Toyohisa escorts to the music room. He unlocks the door and slides it open. Inside, horn instruments were aligned and string instruments were leaning up against the wall.

Izunami's face suddenly lit up. She loved music even when she was a kid.

Izunami: There so many!

What catches her eyes though, was the grand piano. She walks up to it and sits on the piano bench. Toyohisa leans up against the wall and stares blankly on the floor.

Izunami begins to play a tune on the grand piano. Hearing the tune, Toyohisa slowly raises his head. He looks at Izunami. The rays of the sun glistened on the piano and her.

Toyohisa: (That tune... I remember it... "she" would always play it whenever we were bored...)

He puts a hand on his head, covering his eyes. A lone tear suddenly falls from his face. Izunami continued playing. Toyohisa wipes his tear and continues listening. Izunami played the final notes and finishes the song.

Izunami: Although the piano is old, it still has a great tune.

She closes it and gets up.

Toyohisa: That was a nice piece.

Izunami suddenly realized that she forgot that Toyohisa was with her. She begins to blush.

Izunami: Oh...! Um... it was nothing really... but thank you...
Toyohisa: Mind telling me where you learned that piece?

Izunami smiles and places a hand on the piano.

Izunami: I watched my older brother play the piano. Hearing him would always bright up my day. He began to teach me all of the notes and all of the pieces that were from the past. Then, I began to create my own music by random. Just like the one you just heard. Why do you ask?

Toyohisa pauses a bit before answering.

Toyohisa: My ex would always play that piece.

Hearing him say that, she thought that he was upset.

Toyohisa: She would always play it when we had nothing else to do in the music room. We were always alone together...

Just thinking about it was making Toyohisa a little frustrated.

Izunami: I'm sorry...

Toyohisa looks at her and giggles a little. Snapping out of his frustration.

Toyohisa: It's okay. You actually played way better than her.

Izunami was a bit surprised that she actually got him to smile. She began to blush again.

Izunami: Th-thank you~!

Toyohisa smiles.

Toyohisa: Come on. I have to close the room now.
Izunami: Alright.

She leaves the room while Toyohisa closes the door and locks it.

Izunami: Where to?
Toyohisa: I was going to head to the library to go study a little.
Izunami: Alright. I guess I'll come with you as well.
Toyohisa: Sure.

While walking, Toyohisa began thinking in his head.

Toyohisa: (Wonder why she is sticking with me...? Could she be...? Naa... don't be stupid... remember... she is new here... so I guess I need to show her around.)
